Sri JagannathJi Parivar Ratha Yatra

Every year GOD Virginia organizes Sri Jagannath Swami Ratha Yatra. On this day we take Sri Jagannath Swami along with His brother Balahbadra and Sister Subhadra on a procession on a grandly decorated Ratha Yatra in the midst of thongs of devotees. During the yatra all devotees assemble on either side of Ratha and joyously pull the Ratha with full enthusiasm and devotion to welcome Sri Jagannath Swami into their hearts. On this day we also organize Chappan Bhog, offering of at least 56 items, for the pleasure of Sri Jagannath along with hosting vana bhojanam for all devotees.

Radha Madhav vivah

On April 6th Virginia Namadwaar celebrated Radha Madhav vivah at the residence of Smt Nityaji and Sri Srikanthji in Herndon, DC. The Radhakalyanam was performed in the Bagawatha dharma( with traditional sampradaya bhajans).starting with Todayamangalam, Srijayadevar Ashtapathi and many namavalis.then Radha and Krishna pravaram were recited followed by the choornikai. the host also took the bride and grooms sides and offered seer to the divine couple. kalyana ashtapathi was rendered and the lagnashtakam, which mentions the significance of the participating in the divine wedding was sung. this was followed by the mangalyadharanam. the divine couple was then showered with flowers while the devotees were singing namavalis. this was then followed by the nalangu and poo pandhu aatam with the divine couple. the wedding was concluded with aarthi and anjaneya utsav. 75+ fortunate devotees took part in this grand wedding and got the blessings of our divine couple.

Nama Satsang & Akanda Nama

Virginia Namadwaar actively does Nama chanting in various houses around Richmond, dc and Maryland areas. the mahamantra is the most powerful means of prayer in this day and age. the place where it is chanted is purified and filled with sanctity as per the request of the host we conduct Akanda Nama or 2-hour Nama Satsang, be it for any occasion or a prayer to be fulfilled or as a gratitude to the Lord.
